Woman Falls from Moving Vehicle

Chelmsford Police and firefighters were calling for MedFlight tonight about 8:30 p.m., and were hoping to have the helicopter land at the Harrington School, 120 Richardson Road.
Unfortunately, this call didn’t catch my ear until the call for MedFlight came over, so I wasn’t sure where the incident occurred, or what the nature of it was.
MedFlight was unable to respond because of overcast conditions, so the injured party was taken to Lowell General Hospital by ambulance.
Chelmsford Police dispatchers said a commanding officer wasn’t available and declined to comment on the nature of the incident, so I emailed the chief and deputy chief.
Chief James Murphy got back to me about 9:40 p.m., and said the call involved a 20-year-old woman who fell out of a moving vehicle and sustained serious injuries.
Murphy said no other information was available at the moment.
I confirmed with the fire department that the woman fell out of the vehicle on Kelshill Road, but the fire department isn’t releasing any other information due to the police investigation.
Last I checked, at 10:30, dispatchers still said a commanding on-duty officer isn’t available.

  1. I hope to God this young lady is o.k. People don’t fall out of moving vehicles for no reason- they’re either trying to escape from the car, were pushed out by someone else, were drunk or high,OR there was actually some malfunction of the door latch. If the reason was either of the first two, somebody needs to do some time, where they will learn some manners-especially from fellow inmates.

  2. Whatever happened w/ this? People don’t usually exit moving vehicles unless they are in more danger by staying in the vehicle!
