Crash on Lowell/Tewksbury Line

A crash tonight at 8:11 p.m., right in front of Stadium Plaza at 1 Main Street, Tewksbury, sounded a lot worse than it was.
It came in as multiple calls of a three-vehicle accident, with a car into a building, but fortunately a car only nearly struck a building and instead went into a cement pole, as seen below.

The driver of the car pictured above was taken to the hospital with what police said appeared to be minor injuries.
A passenger in the car pictured below told me he and a 39-year-old Lowell woman who were driving had been stopped at the red light on Main Street, in front of the Mobil Station, when the light turned green and they were suddenly rear-ended.

The passenger, who’s name I didn’t get, said the car he was in then spun around and onto the gas station property, where it struck a sign and the light post that you can see leaning to the side in the picture.
At some point one of the two vehicles also grazed a pickup truck.
Police said they were still investigating and they couldn’t provide more information at the scene.
