Man Struck on Andover Street

Police got called to Andover and Nesmith streets tonight a little before 8 p.m. for a report of a man struck by a car, and they found the 57-year-old man pictured below laying on the side of Nesmith Street after being struck by a Mitsubishi Diamante.

The 57-year-old was talking to EMT’s and was said to have suffered only minor injuries. He was taken to Saints Medical Center. The driver, pictured at the far left, appeared shaken, but was allowed to drive away after speaking to police.

UPDATE: Police say 57-year-old might have a few broken ribs, but is expected to be okay.

  1. Did he fall off the elevated sidewalk? I was walking there yesterday, and obviously I was completely sober, but even I was having trouble staying balanced up there. If he was intoxicated I could imagine how it would be difficult to remain on that sidewalk. They need to put a fence along that sidewalk so people don’t roll into the street.
