Robbery at Tewksbury store

Tewksbury Police are asking anyone who recognizes the guy in the two pictures below to call detectives, since the pictures show the man as he robbed the Tewksbury Convenience Mart at knifepoint on Tuesday night.

Officers were called to the store at 160 Shawsheen Street on Tuesday about 8:30 p.m., and they arrived just minutes after the suspect had fled. Officers setup a perimeter and searched the area with a canine, but still found nothing.

A male cashier told police the suspect walked up to the counter with a knife, demanded cash, and fled with an undetermined amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 6 feet, with a medium build. As you can see, he wore a dark, hooded jacket, gloves, a red hat, and had a bandana over his face.

Anyone who thinks they recognize this guy is asked to call Tewksbury Police at 978.851.7373. If you want to remain anonymous, call the tip line instead at 978.851.0175, or email tewks_detectives@tewksbury-ma.gov.

UPDATE: I just left a voicemail with Reading Police and emailed Tewksbury Police to see if they’re investigating possible connections between this Tewksbury robbery and two robberies in Reading on Sunday night.

Here is a link to the information on the Reading heists posted on MassMostWanted.com.

I can’t decide whether the guy in the reading picture looks like the same guy or not. Similar coat, but it looks to me like there’s a Nike logo on the chest of the coat here in Tewksbury, and no logo in Reading. Similar weapon used, similar description. I’m not suggesting there is any connection, but I thought it was close enough to warrant asking police.
