Gorham Street closed due to fire

I was busy at the Vice Unit raid on Middlesex Street so I missed most of this, but there was a one-alarm fire at 1463 Gorham Street in Lowell tonight, at the corner of Gorham Street and Suttle Avenue, right near the Chelmsford line.

No reported injuries and the fire was declared under control as I was still driving toward it about 9:15 p.m.

Damaged seemed contained to the area where this guy is spraying water. The Deputy Chief was busy inside, though, and I had to get back to the newsroom to write about the SWAT and Vice Unit raid.

I still haven’t been able to reach the deputy, so I’m not sure what all the details are here. Looked like a nice stop, though.

Gorham Street was closed from Carlisle Street to the Chelmsford line while crews responded to this, but the fire itself appeared to be well in hand.
