On a serious note – it’s good news for Lowell when I’m chasing incidents like this instead of shootings or homicides.
Tonight about 10:30, Lowell Police got called to the 7-Eleven at Westford and Chelmsford streets for a report of “an unwanted male in the parking lot – naked – he wants to fight the neighborhood.”
It turns out the subject was not, in fact, naked, though I’m told he removed some articles of clothing as he allegedly challenged a woman and someone else inside 7-Eleven to a fight. He was pretty angry when I showed up.
Peter Ducharme, 40, of Lowell, was charged with disorderly conduct.
As he was put in the prisoner transport wagon he very angrily told me ‘yeah, yeah buddy, put me on Youtube.” The picture above was taken as he told me this.
According to The Sun’s archives, it appears Ducharme has a history of arrests in Lowell going back to 2006 on charges including domestic assault and battery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a police officer, public drinking, disturbing the peace and even carjacking.
Our records don’t show whether he was convicted, but I’m still going to go ahead and grant his request.
