Stabbed in the chest

Tewksbury Police were called to the Motel 6 at 95 Main Street just before midnight, when a clerk working the front desk called 911 and told police a man had walked into the lobby with a stab wound to his chest.

The victim told the clerk he had been in room 107, and then he left.

Police say they arrived to find a knife and a guy named Kendrick Sanders, 58, of 82 Gorham St., Lowell, inside of room 107.

A short time later, police found the victim, a 49-year-old Lowell man whose name has not been released, walking on Wentworth Avenue  in Lowell, about a mile from the motel.

Police say the victim was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Sanders, who is pictured, was charged with attempted murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. He is being held, and will be arraigned Monday in Lowell District Court.

State Police attached to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office are assisting the investigation.

  1. It appears that the Motel 6 in Tewksbury has been attracting the same people (prostitutes, pimps, drug dealers, etc) that are now causing the Caswell Motel to be potentially seized and auctioned off by the federal government. Check the police logs over the last few years- same s**t, different location & much easier to take off w/495 right there!
