Flying bottles and a stabbing in Lowell

Tonight was a very quiet and peaceful night, until now.

About 10:15 p.m., police got called to Loft 27, at 27 Jackson Street, after someone threw a bottle through a window. According to one of my Twitter followers who saw this occur, there were three young men.

Moments after the initial dispatch, officers were updated that the owner of a second unit called police and reported a second window broken.

While officers were en route to Loft 27, a 22-year-old stabbing victim walked into the emergency room at Lowell General Hospital.

According to both police and one of my Twitter followers, who called police, one of the rock throwers was a “heavier white guy in a white sports jersey, baseball cap, baggy sports short.”

The second individual was a “taller thinner white guy in a monochromatic plaid shirt.” The third individual was a brown-skinned guy, shorter, in a gray sleeveless T-shirt and gray sweatshirt.

Solid descriptions. My Twitter followers know what’s up!

Police are still waiting to speak to the stabbing victim at length. There is an officer at the hospital, but he is currently standing back and “letting the doctors do their thing.”

The officer at the hospital reports only that he has a 22-year-old male victim with two stab wounds. It sounds like the guy is conscious because he told someone he knows he was stabbed in Lowell, but isn’t sure where.

Detectives are en route to the hospital to speak to the guy once they have a chance.

UPDATE: Police in radio broadcasts have described the victim as “very uncooperative.”

UPDATE 2: At 11:02 p.m., police reported in radio broadcasts that the victim says he was stabbed in the area of Market and Dummer streets.

If you know anything about either of these crimes, please call Lowell police at 978-937-3200 or Crimestoppers at 978-459-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent to police via Text-a-Tip, by texting TIP411 (847411) with the subject “LPDTIP.”
Tipsters can remain anonymous, but can receive up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.

  1. Another stabbing….hmmm I wonder if the person that did this to this kid, walks free like the scumbag that killed my brother in law.
